Well Charlie is almost 2 years old...i cannot believe it! For the first two years of his life he has been home with mommy all day everyday (except when i am out for a few hours a few days a week to go to work) and today was his first day at Preschool. He was so happy this morning as we talked about going to school with "sissy". Sissy and I walked him into his new class and took a picture with his teachers and then he headed straight
for the train table. He was a little unsure of things when we were about to leave because like every first day of school you always have a child that is the "screamer". I am not bad talking the "screamer" because you never know when your child might be "the one". Charlie really did not know what to think of him. I really wish I was able to get the look on his face as he was standing at the train table watching this child scream and fail his body around. You could tell his mood could change in a instant. He did not know if he should be happy or join in with the screaming and crying. I think he decided that he would not join in with the crying but that he needed some of that extra attention the other child was receiving because when i walked back by the classroom he was sitting in the teacher's lap with the "screamer" staring at every motion he made!

So after dropping of Mary Alice I was free for 3 hours! That's right 3 hours! That hasn't happened in 2 years! So you know how the saying goes "While the children are away the mommies will play" (or something like that) I met two of my best friends at Starbucks! Barbara, Bekah I had a little "Coffee Talk" (don't you miss that skit from SNL).
And after coffee Barbara and I had to go and do our next favorite thing we like to do together...church work! I'm just kidding...we are really actually excited about his. Barbara, I and two other friends are the "committee members" (just a fancy way of saying "workers") for our new Children's Church Ministry. We kick things off this Sunday! So we went to Kaplan to negotiate prices for new tables and chairs! I will have to take some pictures Sunday and show you all our hard work!
Anyways, one final story. Mary Alice had a great day. When I picked her up the teacher walked her out and told me she is really enjoying Mary Alice. She said she has been her best "helper". Mary Alice was really good at this last year as well. Anyways, the teacher said "I was asking Mary Alice to sort some bears for me and Mary Alice looked up at me and said Mrs. Chamberlin do you mean you would like me to "organize" these bears for you? The teacher was so happy that Mary Alice was able to organize. Martha Stewart would be proud!
And one final picture. I just could not resist! A few weeks ago we went to meet all the athletic players from Wake Forest. The kids had so much fun! It was at Groves Stadium. I think Mary Alice's favorite thing was when she entered a blown up ball and ran around the football field like a Gerbil. Charlie's favorite was climbing up and sliding down a HUGE inflatable slide. Steve and I could not believe he did it! Actually we could seeing as this boy has NO FEAR!
