Mary Alice is my environmentalist. She is the person who got our family starting to recycle and composting. Mary Alice loves composting! And if you have not checked out her singing video entitled "i love trees" well you should scroll down and check it out.
Well about a week ago we had huge tree fall down in our backyard. Yesterday Steve borrowed a chainsaw from Cody so he could cut the tree into firewood. Thank goodness Cody stayed for a minute because Mary Alice had a meltdown when she found out what was about to take place. She begged her daddy not to cut the tree. Steve explained that the tree was dead, and showed her where the tree was rotted out at the base but that did not change her feelings. She was crying so hard you could not even understand what she was saying.
Steve and Cody were able to calm her down by telling her they would make her a "special" stump out of the tree that she could sit on. That seemed to slow down the tears and little, and so in our backyard sits a special stump for our wonderful earth loving daughter!
We love you Mary Alice and your love for our earth!
(How I wish i had a camera to take a picture of Mary Alice and her tree stump! I might try to see if i can get a decent picture that is not all blurry later today. Mary Alice and Charlie are waiting for me to start making our gingerbread house. UGGGG another reason i need a camera! I could take a picture of the wonderful gingerbread house we are about to make...December is not a good month to have your camera break...for many reasons...all the great things you want to take pictures of and your cash flow seems to be consumed with other purchases!)

Okay, enough of the "I don't have a camera"...someone please buy the woman a camera! I am sure Steve hasn't heard anything about you not having a camera. :)
Glad to see that MA has a special love for Planet Earth. Don't tell her that Uncle Landon works for a chemical company or that G-Dad designs chemical plants.
We did see a book at FAO Schwartz that MA might like. It is called "Santa Goes Green" and it is a story about how Santa reversed global warming in the north pole by recycling and decreasing his dependence on fossil fuels. Kristin said that the celebrities are reading it to their kids. Maybe we can get Al Gore to sign a copy. :)
Miss you guys!
