Girls Weekend, Year 3

I have been home for one week and I am still rejuvenated from my wonderful weekend away at Seabrook Island. This is the third year in a row that we have been able to get away for a weekend together, and i think this year could be the best year yet! Mostly because ALL of our husbands took off Friday from work (thanks guys) and we were able to head out on Thursday evening to my seabrook cottage (thanks barb and jeff).

Thursday night we got on the road around 6pm and like always the car ride was one of our favorite times. Just imagine it...5 women (without our children or husbands) in a car for 5 hours...we covered a lot of territory and really got caught up!

Friday we spent all day laying on the beach then went into Charleston for a nice dinner. Sorry I am not posting any pictures of us laying on the beach. Not because my friends do not look great but because I hate getting into a bathing suit much less posting pictures of me in a bathing suit.

We walked around after dinner and met Judy who hooked up barbara, karen and I with some new shades. Judy took it very seriously. She looked at each one of us and let us know what kind of glasses we should be purchasing for our shape of face. I am still a little bummed that my face was not the type that got the cool big shades, but oh well. What do you think?

Here are a few pictures of us from Friday night at dinner. We laughed so much that night, and it felt so good. We of course caught a lot of stares at the resturant as we were laughing, talking and taking about 20 pictures of ourselves.

Mandy and I.....

Saturday was another gorgeous day. Unfortunately we were unable to lay out because Barbara and I put our sunscreen on a little too late on Friday and got a little red ( ok.. a lot red) . So we spent the morning lounging in bed and eating Mandy's famous cookies. Since we could not lay on the beach and talk all day like we did on Ffriday, we got dressed and went shopping! I also ate the best fried catfish sandwich I have ever had! Karen even took pics....but I do not have those to share...sorry. If Karen would get with the program and start a blog, she could show you....come on Karen..start a blog already! :) Once again, what a great lunch. We SOOOO enjoyed ourseleves, being able to really eat our food and listen to one another (thanks again guys). When we are together we usually have 12 kids ( plus one on the way) with us....so you can only imagine how very little time we have to eat and listen to oneanother.

Here is a picture of us Saturday morning having coffee and getting ready to go shopping.

Sunday morning we enjoyed some coffee and bagles on the sun porch. We sat, drank, and talked just as long as we could and then and got ready to head home.

I enjoy our time so much, and I really appreciate Christian, Cody, Jeff, Shaun and Steve for keeping all 12 of our rugrats for 3 days so that we could have this time together. These friends mean so much to me and I cherish the time we are able to spend together.

Can't wait for next year!
